The journey of owning, showing, and breeding Ridgebacks began back in 1995. Our son, Chris, at the age of 11 wanted to show dogs. He began researching dozens of breeds until he finally chose the Ridgeback. We soon brought home our first Ridgeback, Cybil, and the love affair with this wonderful breed began.
Over the years we have been blessed with many successes in the show ring but by far the biggest blessing is the friends and extended family we have made along the way. Our home is full of dogs, family, friends, and visitors. That's why our puppies are so well socialized - there is always a flurry of activity in our house.
We take our obligation of breeding seriously which is why we try do the very best we can to make decisions based on what is best for the longevity of the breed. Our dogs come from long lines of healthy champions which include many Best of Breed, Group Wins, Best in Show, and Best in Specialty winners. Our dogs all have OFA hip and elbow screenings, OFA cardiology tests, CERF eye exams, OFA thyroid, and DM and EOD genetic testing done before we ever consider breeding them.
We breed only 1 or 2 litters per year and they are all raised inside of our home. Our pups grow into confident adults through the introduction of a variety of experiences when they are young. We socialize them with kids, adults, and older dogs so they will go to their new homes confident and well adjusted.
Besides showing our dogs in the conformation ring, we also participate in lure coursing, agility, and obedience. Our dogs are well rounded athletes who are bred to do the job they were intended to do.
We would love to talk to you about our dogs and to see whether or not a Ridgeback is right for you. We hope you enjoy our website and feel free to contact us anytime!
